Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Thanatos Forge designs and publishes iOS apps and games. We respect your privacy and aim to collect only what is needed to operate, improve, and support our products. This policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Some apps may process more or less information depending on features (for example, offline-only play versus apps that use analytics, advertising, or in-app purchases). Where a specific app differs in a material way, we will describe that in the app’s App Store privacy labels and, if needed, in an app-specific notice.
2. Scope
This policy covers:
- iOS apps and games published under the Thanatos Forge developer account
- The thanatosforge.com website and related support pages
- Communications you send us (for example, support or privacy emails)
It does not cover third-party websites, services, or apps that we do not control, even if linked from our products. Those parties have their own privacy policies.
3. Information we collect
Depending on the product and features you use, we and/or our service providers may process:
3.1 Information you provide
- Support communications: your email address and the content of messages you send us
- Optional feedback: ratings, bug reports, or other information you choose to share
- Leaderboard callsigns & scores: if you use an optional global high-score board (for example in Strait of Thunder), we store the display name you choose, your score, wave reached, platform label, app version, and a device-generated identifier used only to keep each device’s best score. Public pages show name, score, wave, and platform — not the device identifier.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Device & app information: device model, OS version, app version, language/region settings, and general technical diagnostics
- Usage data: session activity, feature interactions, gameplay or app events, crash logs, and performance metrics used to fix bugs and improve stability
- Identifiers: identifiers that help operate the app, analytics, purchases, or advertising (for example, device or advertising-related identifiers where permitted by platform rules and your settings)
- Approximate location: coarse location derived from IP address or region settings (not precise GPS, unless an app specifically requests location permission and you grant it)
3.3 Purchase-related information
- If an app offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, purchase transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We may receive non-sensitive purchase status (for example, product identifiers, transaction state, restore status) needed to unlock content or verify entitlements. We do not receive your full payment card details.
3.4 Information we do not intentionally collect
- We do not require you to create an account with a password to use our typical games
- We do not request government ID, precise health data, or financial account numbers
- We do not sell personal information as “sell” is commonly understood under US state privacy laws
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our apps and website
- Process and restore in-app purchases and entitlements
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance and gameplay balance
- Understand aggregate usage so we can improve features and content
- Show advertising in free or ad-supported apps (where enabled)
- Respond to support requests and protect against fraud or abuse
- Comply with law, platform rules (including Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines), and enforce our terms
6. Tracking & App Tracking Transparency
On iOS, if an app seeks to track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising or similar purposes, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework applies. Where required, we will request permission via the system prompt before tracking.
- You can allow or deny tracking when prompted
- You can change later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- You can also limit ad personalization in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
If you deny tracking, our apps may still show ads that are contextual or non-personalized, and may still use data that is not considered “tracking” under Apple’s rules (for example, first-party analytics or fraud prevention), consistent with applicable law and Apple policy.
7. Purchases, subscriptions & advertising
In-app purchases
Purchases are billed by Apple. Manage or cancel subscriptions (if any) in your Apple ID subscription settings. Restore purchases using the restore control in the app where available. For billing disputes, contact Apple Support; for content not unlocking after a valid purchase, contact us at the support email below.
Advertising
Free or freemium apps may display ads. Ad partners may use cookies, SDKs, and identifiers to deliver, measure, and (where permitted) personalize ads. See Section 6 for tracking controls.
8. Data stored on your device
Our apps may store game progress, settings, preferences, and caches locally on your device (for example, via app sandbox storage). Uninstalling the app typically removes local data. Cloud backups (such as iCloud device backups you enable) are controlled by Apple and your device settings.
9. Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy—for example, for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve support issues, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Crash and analytics data are generally retained in aggregate or for limited diagnostic windows according to our tools’ default retention settings.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You use our apps and website at your own risk regarding residual security risks inherent to the internet and mobile platforms.
11. Children’s privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
If we publish an app specifically designed for children, we will comply with applicable children’s privacy laws (including COPPA where applicable) and Apple’s Kids Category rules, and we will update this policy or provide an app-specific notice as needed.
12. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Opt out of sale/share of personal information or targeted advertising, where those concepts apply under law
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise these rights, email thanatosforgestudio@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy Request,” your app name, and enough detail for us to locate relevant records. We may need to verify your request. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country or state.
Device-level controls: limit tracking, reset advertising identifiers, disable notifications, and manage permissions in iOS Settings. You can stop most collection by uninstalling the app.
13. International users
We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your home country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be highlighted on our website or within an app. Continued use of our apps or website after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
